We are proud to announce a new release of Single Origin Yemeni Coffee: “Ghallah” specifically from the Haraz region in Yemen. We are excited to bring this exceptional coffee directly from Yemen to our Pakistani customers.

Our name “Ghallah” is an Arabic expression that describes the best crop a farmer has ever produced on his land.
In Qahwah’s context, this means that this is the best coffee we have ever tasted, coming up head and shoulders compared to other coffees.

This coffee will make a great treat for special occasions. It is medium-bodied and rich with a sweet fragrance. The rustic flavor profile includes notes of cherry and is bright, fruity and aromatic, with a distinct citrusy taste. A bright acidity adds some fruity bite to the cup especially when brewed through the pour-over method.

This is a naturally processed coffee, which has contributed to its dynamic winey quality that adds depth and richness.

The varietals from which this coffee is harvested is Jaadi, Dawairi, Tuffahi which is a combination of ancestral, heirloom varietals and a more recently discovered varietal.

This Haraz region in Yemen, a historic coffee-growing region in the far northwest highlands, is the source of our “Ghallah” coffee. Coffee is grown at extremely high elevations, and the beans are unusually dense and firm. The region’s agricultural area is situated between 1500 meters and an incredible 2500 meters above sea level.

Here in the Haraz region, coffee is grown on mountainsides so steep that farms must be terraced, creating steps on which coffee can be planted, a practice now hundreds of years old. For most farmers, the practices around producing coffee have not changed for generations.
